Join
our boat trips to Melfjorden and Nordfjorden
to the Svartisen National Park where you can see Norway's second
largest glacier, Svartisen. Nordfjorden is a narrow fjord surrounded
by mountains (800 to 1300 m) .Svartisen is is seen about 800
m over the sea level.
This fjord has a local sea population.
We go ashore and eat a picnic lunch.
In Melfjorden you'll see a 300m high waterfall, where we stop for
photographing.
We also stop at the Polar Circle Globe.

2. An old trading post; Selsøyvik from the sixteenth century.
3. Nordnesøya - we look at growing coral
stones
4. Rødøy - we are visiting the
Rødøy
Church, a beautiful and unusual church, built in the shape of a cross
in 1885

Peak Walking at
Rødøyløva

The majestic Rødøyløva, a 440 metres
high sphinx ,
is the motive for Rødøy local
authority’s coat of arms.
The mountain is easy to climb for hikers, and there is a sign-posted
route.
Both Rødøyløva and Hestmannen lies
near the
shipping lanes and has always been identification marks for sailers.
A fantastic view from the top; islands, mountains and fjords all around!

Peak Walking
at Hestmannen

Hestmannen, 575 metres high, is not quite as easy to walk as
Rødøyløva,
but it is possible to reach the top. The last bit by a narrow
path.
This trip is recommended for experienced walkers, but you
dont have
to go all the way up to get a marvellous view.
